DEAD OF NIGHT
Verse 1: It's late at night; still it makes no difference to the beauties and the beasts on my streets. Deep in the night, and still it makes no difference to the princes and the paupers on my streets. They live underground when the sun is out, wait until dark to move about, feeding off of the heat, the pain, the fear, the rain, the dead of night.

Chorus: Get me out of the labyrinth of leers; wake me up from this nightmare full of fears, this snake pit of hate, this spider's web. Shut my ears to the siren's hollowing songs. Shield my eyes from the sorrows of the throngs, city's come alive with the dead of night.

Verse 2: The city's ablaze, still it makes no difference to the buyers and the sellers of the flesh. Caught in a maze, and still it makes no difference to the seekers and the feeders of the flesh. They paw with the limps afforded them, tugging at sleeves and pulling on hems. Begging for riches, for dope, for love, for hope for the dead of night.

Chorus:

Bridge: From a bottomless pit I hear them calling. “Come with us, it’s as easy as falling”. They call me by name, they say we’re one and the same.

Chorus:

(Fade)
