Verse 1: Read the news today, no joy or goodwill towards
man. No bit of happiness evil can’t transcend. No charitable acts too big to
ignore, just like the day before.
Verse 2: Saw the pictures,
read the headlines, heard the news. Everything is black or white with grayish
hues. Things are worse off now than they were before or maybe we just can’t tell
anymore. Maybe we just can’t tell anymore.
Chorus:
It seems so clear to me. The greatest single casualty, is our
collective memory of how things used to be. Some long for glory days, others
long for medieval ways. Some long for anarchy. Hell no, not for me.
Verse 3: See nothing’s changed since the dawn of man. There’s
good and evil, and in the middle, things we don’t understand. I’m just trying to
get through this life alive so I don’t depart before I arrive. So I don’t depart
before I arrive.
Chorus:
Bridge: And if you’re waiting for the end of days, they’re a billion
light years away. And if everything is preordained then so’s the good, the bad
and the mundane. See the past and debate it. Feel the past don’t re-create it.
Heaven’s just a step a head. Find it now before you’re dead.
Chorus:
